Seven Months

Seriously? My baby is SEVEN MONTHS old already? We are over half way to his 1st birthday! I can’t believe this.

Well, this month was another fun one:

1. TWO MORE TEETH! Thats right- we’ve seen two teeth pop up a month for the last three months….making this a total of 6 teeth for our little guy.

2. Someone discovered their tongue. Ezra sticks his tongue out all day long….he keeps out to smile too! So funny.

3. Getting someone dressed is becoming difficult. Ezra has started to throw a little fit whenever we put anything over his head- he’s not a fan of this. At all.

Oh Ezra….I selfishly want you to stop growing so fast. You are such a big boy- can we talk about your thunder thighs and your total weight being 22 pounds? You’re definitely not a baby-baby anymore. You know what food is….our dinner experiences aren’t the same anymore….you want everything that we put in our mouth!
We love you so much- and really can’t imagine how we ever lived our lives together without you. We thank God for you everyday. We pray over you every night….that you would love Jesus with all your heart and that you would be used to make Jesus famous. We believe this for your life- your name means “Gods Help” so what a perfect helper you will be!

Love,
momma & daddy

He Likes It

My son…..absolutely loves to eat.

This new season of introducing foods has been so much fun. I love his excitement so far around bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes and blueberries!

I was gifted the baby bullet for Christmas and plan to experiment with it this weekend. I want to make as much food as I can for Ezra…it will also force us to eat more meals at home! Oh domestic momma….here I come.

My mother-in-law bought me this cookbook from Williams Sonoma…[aside from loving the photography in this book]…I’m looking forward to being inspired to meal plan. Speaking of…..do you plan out weekly meals? How many nights a week do you mommas make dinner? Any other books or links that you suggest for feeding baby?

Ezras First Word!

Eeeee! My heart…..has melted.

He said it….MOMMA!!

Now, we are working on DADA.

[i’m incorporating more video’s into my blog here….with that said, more daylight & horizontal photos will be on the way. maybe i’ll even try out the video feature on my real camera!]

Six Months

I can not believe that my baby is six months old right now. I can’t believe that half a year ago….my water broke on the 4th of July and he made his way into this world. He has grown so much….and continues to change in some way- everyday.

Well, this month was full of all sorts of excitement::

1. TWO MORE TEETH! Thats right- two on the bottom [popped out last month] and the top two teeth have already broken in. What a trooper.

2. Introduction to solids! Bananas were a hit and since then he’s been a good little eater and has enjoyed pears and blueberries! YUM!

Oh Ezra, you fill our hearts with so much joy. Life is so different with you, but we wouldn’t want it any other way. You make us smile from the early morning hour till you close your eyes for the night.
Words of life were spoken over you this month by Pastor Carl Lentz from Hillsong NYC and we believe wholeheartedly what he said about you. There really is something very special about you- there is a STRONG JOY and a GENTLE PEACE about you. You were created for GREAT BIG THINGS and we pray this over your life- everyday.

Five Months

You knew it was coming…..I just can’t help but start off every blog post this way…..but, I can’t believe my baby is 5 months old!!

It’s no secret- baby Ezra is a BIG BOY! He’s got a doctor appointment later this week, but the last time I checked he was over 19 pounds and that was three weeks ago! He was so long and lean at birth and I wasn’t sure if I’d have a chunky baby or not…..ha!

Well, so much happened this month:

1. Ezra found his voice. It’s a loud one! I love the way he opens his mouth and really tries to get it all out. It gets real interesting when he tries to cry and talk at the same time- too funny!

2. He is still trying really hard to roll over. Reed said that he saw him roll over, but I didn’t see it….so….?!? Momma’s got to see it for it to count, right?

3. We’ve only heard this a few times, but I can hardly wait till its a daily occurrence- the Belly Laugh! Ezra is a big grinner, but he saves those laughs for special occasions. That sound just melts my heart.

4. And saving the biggest news for last…..someone woke up on Friday [Dec 6th] with TWO TEETH! Thats right people….two sharp teeth that broke through the gums! He had been a bit fussy, a whole lot drool-y and his sleeping pattern at night was interrupted with tears and his fists in his mouth. I knew something was going on, but I had no idea that I’d be starring at two teeth at the same time! He’s a trooper!

Ezra, you continue to shape your dad and I into better parents, but most importantly…a better husband and wife. We want to show you what love is and a big part of that is teaching by example. Regardless of whether you understand our words or not, we are intentional about what is said around you. Words bring life and they can bring death….but it’s encouragement, love, belief, truth and LIFE that we want to speak over you. We love you with all of our hearts and then some. We are so thankful for you…

Love,
momma & daddy
