Merry Christmas to your family from ours….
I am loving this first holiday season with our sweet baby Ezra. This weekend we were intentional about spending time together- less time at the cafe– and beginning new traditions that we’d like to incorporate for years to come. When it comes to “baby’s first Christmas ornament” I went round and round with different ideas. Reed and I finally decided that we wanted to make Ezras 1st Christmas ornament together and there just so happens so be an amazing art studio just down the street from us. Reed is really creative when it comes to art…so this was a fun project to do together. He picked out the colors that we used for the ornament…and I can NOT wait to see how it looks after its fired and glazed. We get to pick it up later this week…. We also visited Santa at the Whitefish Lake Lodge! This place is gorgeous this time of year and we thought we would have a better experience there than waiting in line at the mall….and a great experience is exactly what we had! Ezra got to meet Cowboy Santa! He was skeptical at first, but quickly warmed up to that jolly man in the red suit! Our weekend ended with lattes & chocolate…perfection! I’d love to hear what traditions all you mommas have with your family for Christmas. Did you start something new this year? Feel free to share in the comment box below! You knew it was coming…..I just can’t help but start off every blog post this way…..but, I can’t believe my baby is 5 months old!! It’s no secret- baby Ezra is a BIG BOY! He’s got a doctor appointment later this week, but the last time I checked he was over 19 pounds and that was three weeks ago! He was so long and lean at birth and I wasn’t sure if I’d have a chunky baby or not…..ha! Well, so much happened this month: 1. Ezra found his voice. It’s a loud one! I love the way he opens his mouth and really tries to get it all out. It gets real interesting when he tries to cry and talk at the same time- too funny! 2. He is still trying really hard to roll over. Reed said that he saw him roll over, but I didn’t see it….so….?!? Momma’s got to see it for it to count, right? 3. We’ve only heard this a few times, but I can hardly wait till its a daily occurrence- the Belly Laugh! Ezra is a big grinner, but he saves those laughs for special occasions. That sound just melts my heart. 4. And saving the biggest news for last…..someone woke up on Friday [Dec 6th] with TWO TEETH! Thats right people….two sharp teeth that broke through the gums! He had been a bit fussy, a whole lot drool-y and his sleeping pattern at night was interrupted with tears and his fists in his mouth. I knew something was going on, but I had no idea that I’d be starring at two teeth at the same time! He’s a trooper! Ezra, you continue to shape your dad and I into better parents, but most importantly…a better husband and wife. We want to show you what love is and a big part of that is teaching by example. Regardless of whether you understand our words or not, we are intentional about what is said around you. Words bring life and they can bring death….but it’s encouragement, love, belief, truth and LIFE that we want to speak over you. We love you with all of our hearts and then some. We are so thankful for you… Love, I am super excited about a new project that Vanessa and I launched today over on Instagram! We’ve been dreaming up this idea since the beginning of summer and it feels good to finally launch this. There are so many moms that I’ve stumbled upon online that do such a fantastic job with the most important job we’ve been given on this earth. Its even more special when they have a spark of creativity to give to their family and the world around them. We see this as being a hub of [INSPIRATION] for MOMs…..there is SO much distraction out there [and overly staged & styled photos that can make us feel inadequate at times] and I want this to be an easy place for women to find to be encouraged and inspired by everyday moms, who just happen to be creative and entrepreneurial. The vision is for us to be REAL, RAW and AUTHENTIC. To get a peek into the lives, the real lives, of creative moms who find the beauty in the mess and chaos. FOLLOW our series via @kelliandvanessa on Instagram. Last months desktop came with a photo challenge on Instagram and I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all who participated. When I choose the hashtag #ichoosethankfulness there were ZERO photos in that album. On November 30th….there was close to 900 images captured. So awesome! I was encouraged and inspired by so many posts. Some were happy and some were heartbreaking, but what I treasured most was the realness of it all. This series gave freedom to post about your life- the parts you love, along with the messy too. Thank you for being real. Although the coldest part of the year is about to set it….this is one of my favorite seasons here in Montana [4th of July being my top favorite time of the year!]. Whitefish is already a charming little resort town, but when the wreaths, garlands and strings of lights get hung throughout our town….it’s magical! Ashley and I wanted to capture the heart of where we live and share it with you. We wish you a very Merry Christmas with your family and friends. We encourage you to take some time…and allow your days to have moments where “All Is Calm, All Is Bright.” Enjoy these TWO downloads…as our gift to you. We loved both of them and couldn’t decide which to use…so here is both! May you be encouraged this Christmas season!
