week 29

Oh my! I am on a layover in Salt Lake City from Las Vegas, where my husband and I were at a Trade Show for the Red Caboose! It’s been a crazy, busy and exciting week all packed in to one….and internet access [on my computer] was a bit challenging.

So, yes….this post is a few days late, but I did love hearing from you asking where the weekly post was! HA! Seriously! I love that you are along for the ride with me- you, my friends are the best.

Ok, without further ado. This week we’ve got a little butternut squash! According to my app- he weighs around 2.5 pounds [although we know he’s a little bigger than that now] and a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for the developing brain. Now, I’m just praying he flips right on over!

week 30

I can NOT believe that this series began at week 16….and Im posting about week 30 already! This pregnancy has flown by and has truly been a wonderful experience. I’ve loved every bit of it!

This week begins the new schedule of doctor visits- they are happening more frequently- every 3 weeks! We’ve also scheduled the childbirth class and hospital tour for May! It’s getting real, folks!

Well, our growing guy is around 15.7 inches long and weighs almost 3 pounds….like a head of cabbage!

Hope you all enjoyed the weekend and have a great week ahead! I’ve got a little surprised planned for you tomorrow….be sure and check back!

XOXO

Red Caboose Frozen Yogurt + Coffee

I haven’t blogged about my shop, RED CABOOSE Frozen Yogurt + Coffee in a while and I thought this would be a fun post to do for new readers!

A brief history lesson:: My husband and I own a boutique frozen yogurt & coffee shop in the small resort town of Whitefish, Montana. We opened our shop in February 2011 [after a huge construction project that transformed our space from a diner to a cozy cafe] and I blogged about the beginning of our story here.

Our story was featured on HGTV “House Hunters” in August 2011 and that episode will run for 4 years- talk about AMAZING exposure for a new business, right?! You can read about the show here. Our episode will air again ONE WEEK FROM TONIGHT! [Wednesday, April 25th- check your local listings for the correct time].

It’s been quite the adventure, but I wouldn’t trade the opportunity to work and dream alongside of my husband- everyday. We both have two completely different jobs, which really splits up the load of responsibility as well as makes it a really pleasant experience in spending so much time together. It really works for us.

I am passionate about small business and seeing big dreams come true. I surround myself with entrepreneurs [online and in real life] that I love and respect….who also inspire me daily.

I receive a few emails a week asking me questions about starting a business [where to begin, steps to take, can this really be done ect…]. So, i’d like create a “business series” here on my blog- if there is interest. If you have any questions about starting your own business or just need some encouragement while you’re in the process- feel free to leave a comment below and I will do a Q&A post very soon.

Starting a business is not an easy road to take, but it’s oh so rewarding!

Until then….here’s a peak inside of our shop and our VISION VIDEO that we created when we began our journey. You can follow us on FACEBOOK as well!

week 25

Oh my goodness! I can not believe this the 10th segment of my maternity series! It’s going by so fast….I love looking back at these posts and seeing the change…..in him and in me. It’s unreal! Life truly is a miracle….and from none other than God.

This week our little guy now measures around 13 1/2 inches long and weighs about a pound and a half [around the weight of an average RUTABAGA]! Whew! That explains what happened on the scale during my last doctor visit! Not only was it a growing baby, but I was also wearing my favorite JCREW necklace [that apparently weighs over 1 pound]…so of course my super rad nurse re-weighed me and documented the correct weight!

Back to the RUTABAGA….what in the world? I had to google this one….never heard of it! Looks like a momma turnip to me!

Have a great week, friends!
xoxo

week 24

Ok, I knew there would come a day where this series would represent a fruit/vegetable that wasn’t in season. I actually had a hard time finding a “large” MANGO for last weeks series….and well, this week was challenging as well. I had big plans for this one, but I just couldn’t make it happen. Thankfully Reed wasn’t against driving to a field to shoot this….to keep with the farm-like feel!

Lots of movements from the little man this week. We also had our 24 week dr. appointment and once again, everything is going great! So very thankful!

Our little guy has gained about 4 ounces since last week and that puts him just over a pound! He’s almost a foot long….imagine an ear of corn! And….this is where my troubles begin. Corn husks are no where to be found!!! So, this packaged “SWEET CORN” will have to do. You get the idea…..
