Thanksgiving 2013

We had a really nice, low-key Thanksgiving with the family, here in Montana. Haley [Reeds sister] drive into town from Salt Lake so it was really nice to spend some quality time with her. She absolutely adores Ezra and I love seeing him with her. She is so great with him!

Ezra was all about the Thanksgiving meal this year….I have a feeling he’ll be looking forward to this [and all the second helpings] every year. He can absolutely throw down a meal….and I don’t think he’s experienced that many flavors on one plate before! I love experiencing the holidays through his eyes and wonder. The sweetest thing…

We have much to be thankful for….and as I sat around our simple and quaint Thanksgiving table….I loved being surrounded by our family. Many of us were separated this year [it’s hard traveling with kids!] and we opted to stay put this year, but I am thankful for my in-laws. They have been a huge support to Reed and I as we have entered this season of parenthood.

I’ll be blogging our day-after-Thanksgiving tradition…..Im already loving these family traditions with Ezra in tow. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving…..

Thanksgiving morning was gorgeous. The frost froze…and all of nature was showing off. It was fantastic! I couldn’t help myself….I jumped out of the car every few minutes on the road to Reeds parents house to take all sorts of photos. Here’s a peek into our wintery beauty….

Little Conductor

I can’t believe that it has been ONE YEAR since I dressed a 3 month old Ezra as a Little Indian and yesterday, as 15 month old as a Little Conductor! Geez, this year has flown by.

Halloween snuck up on us this year….so we woke up debating whether or not Ezra would be a Montana Lumberjack or Little Conductor. Being that Ezra really runs the Red Caboose– we thought it was fitting for him to dress the part! Luckily, we had all the elements in his closet….to dress him as the cutest conductor we’ve ever seen!

Ezra loved watching all the kids who came in the shop to trick-or-treat. He also loved walking running up and down Central Avenue [representing the red spoon!]…..he pretty much runs the town! HA!

Our baby is walking!

I knew this day would come. This is the very reason why I allowed it to just happen….without rushing it.

It’s achievements like this that remind me that my baby is growing…..and quickly!

Same goes for sleep training. Every baby is different- thats why we can’t compare our babies. However, EVERYONE has opinions on sleep. To be honest, I didn’t read one book on trying to get Ezra to sleep through the night. I knew he would do it….and eventually he did [still does] and is now in his own room- in his own bed- and wouldn’t even sleep with Reed and I if I tried to trick him into it! I’ve really soaked in all 15 months of Ezras life. With your first baby you can do more than you can with two or three [or so I’ve been told]….you can bend “the rules”…and thats what I’ve done. I look back on the days when he slept by my side all night long…on the nights when he would wake every few hours…and I cherish those moments. Those things don’t happen anymore [don’t get me wrong- I’m loving my sleep], but I sure do look forward to seeing my baby each morning. I miss him so much in that almost 12 hour gap!

Back to walking…..yea, we have a walker and a climber on our hands. Our adventure just got a bit more exciting!

Ezra, I love you more than I can express in words. You are a blessing. You continue to reveal parts of me that need refining, but I am constantly inspired and encouraged. We never knew we could love this much…..we are so proud of your accomplishment this week. This is just the beginning……

Love,
Momma & Daddy

Sweet Pickin’s Pumpkin Patch

Even though Ezra is still little to fully take in the adventures on a pumpkin patch….we still decided to head on over to Sweet Pickens this past weekend to begin our new yearly family tradition. Reed and I always looked forward to our annual trip to Gentry’s Farm in Franklin, TN….so we are thrilled to have found this pumpkin patch and enjoy this tradition with our sweet son.

It’s so awesome to see Ezra soak up everything around him, including the Trike Trail, Tractor Ride and the Farm Animals! I mean….I can only image what he thinks about pumpkins that are as big as he is! I love seeing his eyes fill with wonder and excitement! He absolutely loves being around other kids….so he was in heaven with little ones to the left and right of him. Everyone is a “baby” to Ezra….and he’d gladly hug everyone in sight. Such a sweet-sweet boy. There’s so many different activities for all ages- so I love that each year will be a little different for our little explorer.

This was such a fun afternoon together as a family…..one of my favorite things to look forward to each Fall for sure!

Bath Products By Aden + Anais

I have recently partnered with a favorite company of mine, Aden + Anais -to photograph, style and try out their new products. I absolutely love their muslin swaddle blankets and have snuggled with Ezra many many nights wrapped up like a little burrito. I also used these blankets as backdrops for a few images in Ezras one year series.

Aden + Anais has a new bath line called MUM + BUB. A naturally-derived, pawpaw fruit infused skin care collection for baby & mom! Although I haven’t tried this product on myself….I absolutely love the scent it creates at bath time every night. It really does have a relaxing effect [on both of us!]. The hair + body wash is super gentle on Ezras skin [and his eyes!] and the ultra gentle lotion is a perfect texture- not too thick and not too greasy!

I also tried out the hooded towel & washcloth set. Oh my goodness….this washcloth is ridiculously amazing. It’s the loofa for babies! This washcloth expands and becomes super soft and one squeeze does a whole lot of rinsing. It’s pretty awesome.

This new bath line really does create a spa-like effect for our babies. Bath time is at the end of the day for us- a time to relax and prepare for a good nights sleep….so I love the idea of creating a peaceful environment for Ezra [and myself] and these bath products help me achieve the night time goals.

There’s so much junk and hard to pronounce ingredients in our food and beauty products these days. It’s really sad, but this also prompts us do a little research on our own, which I think is the right way to live, regardless. I am super excited that these Aden + Anais bath products are

Free Of:
phytoestrogen + parabens + added hormone disrupters + petroleum oils + phthalates + dioxanes from sulfates + gluten and soy + petrochemicals + DEA + artificial colors

Made in the USA [i really love this part, too!]

What bath products do you use and love?!?
